The Tauck Difference in the National Parks

Into the Rockies by rail aboard Rocky Mountaineer

Stay at four acclaimed Fairmont resorts

Nights 1, 2, 4 – 8

Spend seven nights at four luxury Fairmont resorts in Vancouver & the Canadian Rockies

Your "Vancouver & The Rockies by Rocky Mountaineer" journey includes a total of seven nights spent in accommodations at four of Western Canada's finest Fairmont luxury resorts: Fairmont Waterfront in Vancouver, BC; Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge in Alberta's Jasper National Park; and Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise and Fairmont Banff Springs, both historic Canadian Rockies resort hotels originally built by the Canadian Pacific Railway over a century ago, set amidst the natural treasures of Banff National Park.

Flightseeing over Vancouver & the Gulf Islands

Day 2

A bird's-eye view of Vancouver and the Gulf Islands by floatplane

As far as geographical names go, British Columbia's scenic Gulf Islands can be a bit daunting. First of all, the more than 200 Gulf Islands are actually located not in a "gulf" but in the Strait of Georgia (which has nothing to do with the US state or the former Soviet republic), set between large Vancouver Island to the west, and the British Columbia mainland (where the city of Vancouver is situated) to the east. And to make things even more interesting, the islands include towns with names like Vesuvius and Ganges. But seeing these beautiful, pristine islands – home to many parks and protected areas – from the air is indeed a highlight of your flightseeing trip by floatplane from Vancouver's Coal Harbour that takes you aloft for a bird's-eye view of the city and environs.
