The World Next Door

This is a journey of contrasts – between lively port cities and remote fishing villages, rugged headlands and rolling vineyards, storied forts and quiet trails. But what ties it all together is the enduring sense of place and pride that defines Nova Scotia.

From Halifax to Lunenburg, each day brings you deeper into the heart of the region, culminating in a farewell dinner where the week's experiences come full circle. Whether it's your first time here or a return to familiar shores, this journey invites you to explore Nova Scotia not just as a destination, but as a living story – told in the stories of its people, the rhythm of its tides, and the beauty of its coastal light. Cradled by the Atlantic and shaped by centuries of seafaring, migration, and cultural exchange, Nova Scotia is a place where history isn't confined to museums – it lives in the salt air, the rhythms of coastal life, and the warmth of its communities. From rugged cliffs to colorful harbors, this is Canada's East Coast at its most soulful, where each experience feels both timeless and deeply personal. Read Less

Whale Watching on Nova Scotia's Bay of Fundy

Where the ocean stirs with possibility and the tides shape the wild

Step into the heart of Mi'kmaq culture on a guided experience along the Eskasoni Cultural Journey trail, led by community members who share their traditions, stories, and everyday life. As you visit a series of village settings, you'll participate in meaningful hands-on activities – take part in a smudging ceremony, help prepare four cents cake over an open fire, and learn the intricate art of traditional basketry. Feel the rhythm of Pow Wow drumming, try your hand at dancing, and explore the time-honored skills of hunting and fishing. Along the way, you'll meet artisans and storytellers, and enjoy a taste of luskinigan bread with tea. It's an unforgettable opportunity to connect with the living culture of the Mi'kmaq people in a powerful and personal way.

Hall's Harbour Lobster Pound

Enjoy an authentic regional dining experience with lunch at Hall's Harbour Lobster Pound

Located on the Bay of Fundy (known for having some of the highest tidal shifts in the world) lies Hall's Harbour, a small fishing village dating back to 1779. Best known for its fishing industry (specifically lobster and scallop), your time in this small village is highlighted with lunch at Hall's Harbour Lobster Pound, a restaurant built right into the village's lobster pound! Here, you can enjoy a taste of the Bay and choose your very own lobster from the on-site lobster pound or try any of the other seafood items on the menu. It doesn't get fresher than this!

The Tale of Oak Island

Enjoy a two night stay on Oak Island - one of the most fascinating unsolved mysteries in North America

One of several islands located in Mahone Bay, Oak Island is well-known for its many rumors and theories about treasure and ancient artifacts buried beneath its surface. For centuries, treasure hunters, historians and adventurers have flocked to Oak Island in hopes of riches and eternal fame, only to leave empty-handed time and time again. This lack of success has caused Oak Island to be one of the most fascinating unsolved mysteries in North American folklore. Your time on this island is highlighted by a two-night stay at Oak Island Resort & Convention Centre, where you're free to enjoy the amenities of the property as you wish. Although, we don't encourage any treasure hunting.
