There has been a change for 2017. On Day 9 there are only two flights- "Makgadikgadi airstrip to Maun, then on to Cape Town, South Africa." There is no longer a stop/plane change in Johannesburg according to the 2017 itinerary and route map.
Maybe this Wiki info is correct/old news and Maun is or will be able to handle larger aircraft with the endurance and speed to make a quick flight direct to Cape Town without a stop in Johannesburg.

Currently, SAA flies the EMBRAER EMB-135 regional jet between the two, three days a week (Mon, Wed, Sat.) It is a 2hr, 35 min. flight. As far as 2016 it is probably still three flights, hopefully someone will weigh in with the current times.
Someone on the forum mentioned that their trip only had the two flights, but if this is only three days a week maybe it will not be on every tour departure. I think this means a call to Tauck if it is very important to you and maybe you can let all of us know who are taking the tour in the next few weeks.
I just checked our spiral booklet itinerary for this September, and it is two flights, no Johannesburg
We are also booked in September, but we don't have a spiral bound itinerary. Did Tauck send it to you.
Tauck sends it once you are paid in full. If you paid in full over a week ago, call Tauck. If you paid in full but booked through a travel agent, give the agent a call.
We are on the Sept 3, 2016 trip starting in Livingstone, Zambia. We're trying to find out approximately what time on Day 9 do we arrive in Cape Town. Trying to arrange meeting old friends there for dinner.
