Monument Valley flightseeing?

So who has done the Monument Valley side trip and was it worthwhile? Do you miss something else while going on that excursion > what are the others in the group doing while you are away at Monument Valley?

Obviously trying to decide if we should do that or not...

Thanks,

Steve

  • Would not miss the opportunity of the extra flight, it was wonderful. You get off the flight and visit a family in a teepee too. Sorry, can't remember what others did, it was a while ago.
  • Others did a flight over some of the area, but don't think they go as far as MV. Only thing you miss is a few hours of free time. Going to MV was worth the money.

We traveled a bit further and we learned much about Navaho culture. Worth the extra time. HOWEVER, this comes midway through the trip and you may be "sinking" about this time and enjoy some free time to relax around the pool after the shorter early morning flight and before the afternoon boat ride. Those of us who did Monument Valley were very busy all day long and were, frankly, wiped out.
  • Monument Valley is not to be missed. The rest of the group do a plane ride instead. The rest you do when you get back. So, no you don't miss anything except some free time.
  • Do not miss Monument Valley! The scenery is amazing both from the air & from the ground once you actually land in the valley. It is worth every penny & was one of the highlights of our trip. You'll miss some free time at the resort but hey, you can relax when you get back home.
