Checked baggage on intra-China flights

Can someone tell me if 29 inch tall suitcases are allowed on the intra-China flights as long as the weight does not exceed 44 pounds? Or does one have to go down to the 26 inch suitcases? 16 days is a long time and the larger suitcase would be preferable. Although the total dimension listed is 62 inches, mine seems to measure 63 1/2 inches.
Does anyone know for sure? I am leaving this coming Wednesday. I am fine with the carry-on bag.

    Hi Silver Quarry, We took this tour in 2011 and like you we were very concerned that our suitcases would be both over sized and maybe over weight. Our Director told us that he did not care how many or how much they weighed. So we checked both our suitcases and had no problems with any of our in China flights. We had an amazing, fun and no problems trip of a life time....ENJOY!!!! Hope your tour to China is THE BEST!!
