NOTES ON DANUBE RIVER CRUISE

I have read comments on the forum and I am most interested in receiving Bev's information about the trip and tours. Please email it to cesobel@gmail.com. I just sign up for a cabin for the October 2 cruise.

    I don't know if I am the Bev that you are talking about. We went on the Danube Trip in May, but unfortunately the rivers were flooding and 5 days into our trip, the European River Authority shut down all the rivers to boats. The trip was cancelled, but the time that we spent there was wonderful. We were treated extremely well and the tours that we were able to have were wonderful, especially the Welcome Dinner.

    Tauck handled this situation better than any other tour company that I know of. They booked return flights for all us at the same class as our original flights and made sure that we got to the airport in Vienna on time. For those of us, whose flights were after an overnight stay in Vienna, they booked us at the Waldorf Astoria and escorted us to the airport at the correct time. At no time, were we frightened or confused. The really amazing part is that they refunded the cost of the entire trip including our airfare. They didn't prorate the days that we had already spent on the tour and made the experience as pleasant as possible.

    In 2011, we took the River trip from Amsterdam to Brussels with Tauck and I can tell you that not only were the land tours great, but the small ship experience was awesome.

    We are taking our 12th trip with Tauck in September and each one has been fantastic. Tauck knows how to do it and they are the only company we will travel with.
