Appropriate skirt and short length in Italy

We are going on the Classic Italy trip Sept. 10. Will a skirt (for women) or short (for men) that comes to the TOP of the knee be acceptable to wear into the cathedrals and churches (other than at the Vatican)?

    Usually the Italian churches require that shoulders and knees are covered.

    My wife and I arrive in Naples on Sept. 9 to begin the Classic Italy tour. I assume we're on the same tour since you mention September 10. Please let us know. We are interested in hearing from others on this tour.

    Hi Cookie,

    The guidance we receive from The Vatican is that knees and shoulders should be covered at all times when visiting any church-related building, be it the Sistine Chapel, Cathedrals, or otherwise.
