week in Venice, Florence, Rome- June 23

This is our first Tauck trip. We are going on June 23- June 30. We are going a day early in Venice.
Anyone else going early? Is it still flooded in Venice?

    Venice, particularly Saint Mark's Square, will always flood on the high tide. This used to be a rare occurrence, but now it's almost considered normal. The water floods in on extreme tides, then it flows back. It's not like the river flooding in central Europe happening at the moment. The Venetians are building a flood barrier out in the Lagoon, but I don't think that's finished, yet.
