My husband and I are planning on the May 14 northbound trip Basel to Amsterdam. Anyone who has taken this cruise previously have any comments on this trip. Would you recommend an extra night in Amsterdam?

    We did this Basel to Amsterdam river cruise two years ago and you definitely need another day in Amsterdam. My friends went on line and bought tickets to the Ann Frank House which attracts many many tourists. You can also go on line and see which museums you are interested in visiting. If you arrive in Basel early, the hotel will give you a free day pass to ride the wonderful electric cars around the city. Basel is a lovely city. This river cruise is really a delight and Tauck does a great job -- food, service, guides and wine -- all good. When we left the ship, we had nothing to pay since almost everything is included.
