tipping in euros or American money?

I notice that we will be giving tips to the tour director and driver. For planning purposes do we tip in euros or American money? Which do they really prefer? Thank you for being there with all the answers.

    I give Euros to both (or whatever the local currency is). Every driver I've had on a tour has lived locally, so I always tip them in Euros. As for the tour director, I've found that most of the time they aren't going back to the US soon, or some don't live in the US when they're not working, so I usually end up tipping them in Euros as well. I just calculate the tip in US dollars and then convert to Euros at the current exchange rate.

    What is the recommended tip amount for the tour guide and for the driver? The Classic Tour for small groups takes eurorail part of the way, will the same driver be on both sides of the eurorail passage? Or are there multiple drivers?
