Paris to Monte Carlo

I, too, would like to know if Versailles will be part of the July 5 trip. If not, what is the best way to get tickets and transportation? Also, what is the best way to get tickets for museums not on the city tour? We'll be in Paris 2 days before our tour and appreciate recommendations. Thank you.

  • I do not bellieve Versailles is part of the Paris to Monte Carlo trip. We are actually going to be in Paris for three days before our first trip--Normandy, Brittany and the Loire Valley--this is the trip that starts in Versailles. When this trip ends in Paris we will then be going on the Paris to Monte Carlo trip-- Sorry if I got info from both trips mixed up.
There is a very popular tour company--Viator--that may have a trip out to Versailles or you can just take the train on your own. Website for trains is http://www.ratp.fr/itineraires. Pretty easy to work with. Versailles is very big and there is lots to see--check out their website. You may also check out the Paris board of Tourism or even the French embassy--they have links. Hope this helps

  • The concierge at your hotel should be able to book you for both Versailles and the museums.
  • We learned that Versailles is not included in our Tauck trip so we have hired Viator Tours for a 1/2 day trip. They also do a full day trip there. They pick you up at your hotel. We found them online after reading some reviews. www.viator.com. Thanks for the replies below, just now saw them--much appreciated. Enjoy your Loire Valley trip, Francesca! You'll have to fill us in when we meet on the Paris to Monte Carlo trip. LeAnn
  • LeAnn--glad to be of help. These forums are really helpful. Look forward to meeting you in Paris! Also if you wish to go up in the Eiffel Tower you should purchase your tickets in advance to avoid the very long waits. They have specific times of entry---http://ticket.toureiffel.fr
