Romantic Germany - Restauraunts

We will be taking the Romantic Germany trip in late July. Looking for suggestions (good and bad) for restauraunts on the days that dinner is not supplied. Thanks.

    Al,

We took this tour a few years ago. The "Tauck Food" was superb. My wife called it the "pound a day" tour. While I don't have any suggestions for specific restaurants on the off days (there weren't many as I recall), I can tell you that we were quite content to have light meals on the days dinner was not provided. I do remember a free day in Munich when we found a little sidewalk cafe near the hotel for bratwurst and beer. OK, so not very low cal, but a nice change from the first-class meals on the trip.

WE did this trip last summer - the itinerary and/or free evenings might have changed but, that said, we had a nice dinner in Wiesbaden at Kafer's - it's only a few minutes walk from the hotel and near the casino. Our dessert - warm chocolate cake - was to die for. In Munich, we had a very memorable dinner at Schubeck's - among the finest service we've ever had in any restaurant, anywhere! Food was wonderful, too. Not a bargain dinner, I have to say. Enjoy

Thanks for the restaurants in Wiesbaden and Munich. We will definitely give them a try.

We are on the 17 Sept. Romantic Germany trip. This will be our 7th Tauck adventure and we are really looking forward to it. Our roots are in Germany and we are anxious to see the country where are ancestors have been.
