    Hi Safariruth,

Amsterdam is a truly wonderful city, so you'll thoroughly enjoy your extra time there. We were there 3 extra days several years ago and still didn't see everything we should have seen. One thing you really need to do is to dine at an Indonesian rice table restaurant. Your concierge can recommend a good one. It's a neat, as well as a delicious, experience. Afterwards, take a nighttime canal cruise. You'll cover the same canals you'll cover on your daytime canal cruise with Tauck, but the experience is very different at night when all the beautiful bridges are lighted. You'll probably also want to visit the Anne Frank house. We didn't have tickets ahead of time, but the long line moved quickly. However, I now understand you can reserve a specific time, so that might make it quicker to see it. Also, you might want to visit the VanGogh Museum. We enjoyed it and marveled at his beautiful paintings, as well as those of other impressionists. Amsterdam is a very walkable city, so we walked and walked and walked seeing the sights. Be sure you see the train station where literally thousands of bikes are parked. We walked through the red light district during the daytime, and the women were plying their trade even then. You can also walk through it at night, although we didn't do so. You can take a tour with a guide if you don't want to go by yourselves.

If you have other questions, be sure to ask.
