Curated for every itinerary, these are the can't-miss moments you'll be telling your friends about long after you return home.

Slip away for an afternoon to one of the most secluded corners of the Bazaruto Archipelago, where a private "castaway" experience awaits. Settle into your own stretch of beach and savor a decadent picnic beneath a shaded awning, a perfect way to spend your final day in paradise.

Perched high above Cape Town, Lion's Head rewards those who climb. A late afternoon hike reveals sweeping views of the city, the Atlantic coastline, and a glowing sunset.

A choice of private jeep tours in Cape Town provides you with a perfect opportunity to see the city as you'd like. And what better way to wrap up your explorations than with a hand-packed gourmet picnic lunch?

Embark on game drives across Marakele National Park in search of Africa's "Big Five." Day or night, be sure to always keep your eyes peeled for the animals that call here home.
Named the "Best City in the World" by the Telegraph Travel Awards and Time Out in 2025, Cape Town continues to dazzle travelers with its breathtaking natural beauty, world-class culinary scene, rich history and diverse culture. Cape Town isn't just a place you visit, it's somewhere you experience in every sense of the word.
Set within South Africa's Waterberg Mountains, Marakele National Park is a wilderness known for its dramatic red cliffs, deep valleys, and sweeping grasslands. This unique landscape supports the "Big Five," rare antelope, and one of the world's largest breeding colonies of endangered Cape vultures, all within the UNESCO-recognized Waterberg Biosphere. Your stay here is at a private reserve right in the heart of the park, ideal for becoming one with nature.
Located within Mozambique's Bazaruto Archipelago, Benguerra Island is known for its pristine white sand beaches, vibrant coral reefs, and extraordinary marine life, with dolphins, sea turtles, and rare dugongs inhabiting its protected waters.

All hotel accommodations, airport and train station transfers, excursions, select meals, sightseeing, applicable fuel surcharges, on-tour flights (4) and gratuities to Roam Directors, local guides and drivers are included.
International roundtrip airfare, travel protection, and any activities and meals you choose to pursue during free time that are not outlined in the itinerary are not included in the price of the trip.
Free time is a big part of what makes Roam by Tauck feel personal – space to reset, explore independently, or follow whatever catches your eye. To help you start imagining how you'll spend it – whether that's reserving a table at a nearby restaurant, enjoying your hotel's amenities, or simply asking your Roam Director for suggestions – we've outlined the longer stretches of open time built into this journey below. Beyond these dedicated windows, you're always free to personalize your experience by sitting out activities that don't match your mood and enjoying more time your way.
Location indicates where your free time begins. In some cases, that means you'll be back at your hotel, with the freedom to relax or head out on your own.
