paradors of northern spain

Am thinking of this tour for 2014. Are meals served very late(9 PM or later), per Spanish custom, on this tour?

We did the Portugal and Spain a few years ago, and dinner was usually around 8:30. Check the Paradors of Northern Spain web site. The tour details state "Dinner in Spain is customarily served after 10:00 PM. We have arranged for our guests to dine as early as 8:30 PM in most restaurants".

We did this tour last October. No, the dinners were no later than on the other 10 tours we had done with Tauck. What was surprising to us were the lunches. They were usually around 2 pm, and were quite hearty...soup/ salad, entree, dessert and usually plenty of wine. We are not accustomed to such large lunches, so an 8:30 dinner was not a stretch! This is a great trip, and we were so pleasantly surprised by the wonderful food and wine (most included with meals).

Dinners on this tour generally begin around 8:00 PM. Some of the restaurants require staggered seating, so you may be seated at 8:30 PM or later. While this may be later than you're used to (as it was for us), it's not the full Spanish experience of starting dinner at 10:00 PM.

As Joycesw noted, lunches are fairly large, consisting of appetizer, entree, and dessert, along with all the wine, water, and/or soda you can drink.
