Tauck Volunteers and Our National ParksSince 2003, Tauck has demonstrated its commitment to America's national parks with its award-winning on-tour volunteer program in national parks and monuments throughout the U.S. Over 10,000 guests, ages 9 to 90, have helped to maintain historic buildings, clean ranger stations, refurbish picnic areas and amphitheatres, and landscape trailways and public areas. These “vacation volunteers” brim with enthusiasm; more than 90% report that volunteering enhanced their tour experience by giving them a different perspective of – and appreciation for – America's national parks, monuments and historic sites. Currently, the following tours include a National Park volunteer option: Yellowstone & Grand Teton National Parks This 10-day journey through Utah, Wyoming, Idaho and South Dakota features an optional volunteer opportunity in the national parks. Volunteer projects range from painting and staining park sites to trail maintenance to restoration and rebuilding of historic sites and typically last a couple of hours. Cowboy Country Families on this journey can spend a couple of hours participating in an optional volunteer opportunity in the national parks, where they can help paint picnic tables, restore landscapes or help maintain historic buildings in the park. |
