Day 1 – Welcome to the Canadian West – land of Mounties & moose!
Tour departs: 3:00 PM from Calgary Airport. Your family’s Canadian Rockies vacation experience begins as you head west through the part of Alberta called Kananaskis Country; it’s famous for great scenery, a lot of parks and protected areas, and outdoor adventure opportunities. Prepared to be dazzled when you reach your home for tonight, The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise, set on the banks of a sparkling lake deep in Banff National Park – when you look up, all you can see are the mountains that soar – really soar – above you. Join us to meet your fellow Canadian Rockies explorers at a welcome reception and dinner tonight.

Day 2 – Some of Mother Nature’s best work
A guided hike at Emerald Lake is a wonderful way to get up-close-and-personal with Mother Nature on any Canadian Rockies vacation. Neat wildlife, like bald eagles, moose and many other animals, make their homes here. How many different kinds of animals and birds will your family be able to count as you hike through this accessible wilderness in Yoho National Park together? Years ago, people came by horse-drawn coach and by train to feel “the call of the wild.” You’ll have lunch at Emerald Lake Lodge, first built in 1902 to serve these early nature-loving visitors. After lunch, continue on to The Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge, in the middle of Jasper National Park, for a three-night stay.
Meals: Breakfast, lunch, dinner
Lodging: The Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge

Day 3 – Your day – your way – at Jasper Park Lodge
On your Canadian Rockies vacation, this is your day to spend just as you please. Set in the midst of the magnificent Rocky Mountains, your resort has all kinds of activities available to please every member of the family. Best of all, you’ll receive a special “Fun Card" good for fun things like a free hour of bike rental, a boat for an hour, one hour of tennis court and racket rental, and a big bucket of balls and club rental at the golf driving range. Maybe you and your family will go off in search of the wildlife that calls the area home or play in the swimming pool. It’s up to you! Learn more about Canada and the wildlife in its amazing national parks at a talk given by a Parks Canada expert later on today.

Day 4 – Wet and wild!
Start this day of your Canadian Rockies vacation with an exciting expedition to Maligne Canyon. One of the most spectacular gorges in the Canadian Rockies, the views way down deep between its steep, smooth canyon walls are memorable. Each bridge you cross brings something new. Then, board a rubber boat for a raft trip down the mighty Athabasca River, encountering calm waters and some white water along the way as you float through amazing scenery.
Meals: Breakfast, dinner
Lodging: The Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge

Day 5 – Glacier capers
Keep a lookout for animals, like moose, bighorn sheep and elk, as you drive along the incredible Icefields Parkway this morning. Then, get set for something really cool as you board a specially designed Ice Explorer for an unforgettable ride atop a glacier. The awesome Athabasca Glacier lies in the middle of the Columbia Icefield, one the largest accumulations of ice and snow south of the Arctic Circle. Some of the glacier’s ice began as snow more than 400 years ago! Before you set off, look up – the people and Ice Explorers look like ants and toy vehicles. Later… when you’re on one… you get the picture of how incredible it is to be on the glacier! Travel on to The Fairmont Banff Springs resort for a two-night stay in magnificent Banff National Park in the heart of the Canadian Rockies.
Meals: Breakfast, lunch
Lodging: The Fairmont Banff Springs

Day 6 – The best of Banff
This may be one of the best days of your Canadian Rockies vacation because you and your family can spend it any way you like. One thing you’re sure to want to do is take the included ride up to the “top of the world” on the Banff gondola. As you look around you from your four-passenger gondola car, you’ll see more mountains than you could ever imagine. From the summit of Sulphur Mountain, you’ll have a bird’s-eye view of six mountain ranges! We’ve also included a Banff Heritage Pass, good for admission to the interesting Whyte Museum of the Canadian Rockies, where you’ll see seven restored early Banff cabins and homes; the Cave & Basin National Historic Site; and discounted admission to the Buffalo Nation Luxton Museum. Perhaps you’ll choose to spend the day at your resort and swim in the indoor and outdoor pools, rent mountain bikes or canoes, or just follow your nose throughout the grounds to spot wildlife. Join us tonight for a special farewell bowling party and dinner.
