Botswana, South Africa & Zambia

2013 Prices From : $8,890 plus on-tour air for 12 Days - Tauck World Discovery

NEW FOR 2013! One of our most compelling trips in Africa tours some of the continent’s most spectacular wildlife reserves. Your journey begins in South Africa in Cape Town, at Africa’s southernmost tip – a dazzling metropolis of exotic urban life, art, history, and culture – then takes you inland on safaris through the awe-inspiring national parks of Zambia and Botswana, home to some of the largest concentrations of big game on the planet, including the Okavango Delta, Mosi-oa-Tunya (which embraces Victoria Falls), and the Makgadikgadi Pans on the edge of the Kalahari Desert. The landscapes you’ll visit (from rainforests and marshlands to savannahs, salt plains and desert) are as diverse and fascinating as the wild creatures that inhabit them, and the variety of means you have to meet them: including safari vehicle, vintage steam train and on foot, in the company of a Bushman guide and tracker. Stay in luxury tented camps and five-star luxury hotels, enjoy sundowners under a blazing African sunset, dine at private homes, in elegant hotels and under the stars in the bushveld. This is the ultimate in South Africa tours for its range of unforgettable safari experiences, and closeness of contact with African wildlife and culture.

The Tauck Difference

There is nothing awkward about the teenage lions we walked with in Zambia.  They moved gracefully, when they weren’t nipping at each other’s ears.  All along our guide told us about other lions they raised and released into the wild.  There was pride in the program and a degree of melancholy as he spoke about having to one day say goodbye to our companions for the day.
