Tauck Announces Second Annual
Bridges Photo Contest
Winners Receive A $3,000 Tauck Gift Certificate
NORWALK, CT (January 30, 2007) Following the most successful year yet for its Bridges family itineraries, Tauck World Discovery has announced that it will again invite its Bridges guests to participate in a vacation photo contest. Over 1,000 photos taken on Bridges itineraries throughout the world were entered in the 2006 contest.
“Last year’s contest was an amazing success,” said Tauck’s Chief Operating Officer, Dan Mahar. “It was incredibly inspiring to see images of so many families building memories that will last a lifetime. The fun and bonding our guests were experiencing really came through in the photos. We’re looking forward to even more entries this year.”
The Bridges photo contest carries a grand prize of a $3,000 Tauck gift certificate. The second-place winner receives a $1,000 Tauck gift certificate, and third-place receives a $500 gift certificate. Last year’s three winning photos showed families enjoying Bridges itineraries in Italy, Alaska, and the American West. Winners of the 2007 contest will be announced next fall, and will be featured in the 2008 Bridges brochure.
PIONEERS IN FAMILY TRAVEL
Tauck’s Bridges collection of itineraries has been among the company’s fastest growing product categories, enjoying double-digit growth each year since its launch in 2002. The Bridges concept of escorted, enriching family travel has also been widely imitated by other companies in recent years. “We’re proud to have pioneered the category,” said Mahar, “and we’re very flattered by the number of other highly-regarded travel companies that have followed our lead. But the real joy has been leveraging our travel expertise to help build ‘bridges’ between the family generations that travel on our Bridges trips.”
Tauck offers ten Bridges itineraries in the U.S., Latin America, Europe, Africa and Australia. New for 2007 is a 12-day “Australia: Kangaroos & Koalas” itinerary (from $3,715 per person, plus air), that begins in Sydney with a surf lesson at Bondi Beach and visits to the Taronga Park Zoo and Sydney Aquarium. The trip also features two nights in the Outback near Ayers Rock, three nights at the Kewarra Beach Resort and two nights at the Coconut Beach Rainforest Lodge.
