Tauck Introduces New Tauck Bridges Family Itinerary to Spain
New Eight-Day “Spain: Olé, Olé, Olé!” Journey Highlights History and Culture from Madrid to Seville
NORWALK, CT (February 19, 2014) Tauck is expanding its portfolio of Tauck Bridges guided family itineraries with the launch this year of its first-ever family trip to Spain. The company’s new “Spain: Olé, Olé, Olé!” journey includes a range of unique experiences that reveal Spanish culture and history to travelers of all ages in fun and enriching ways.
The eight-day Tauck Bridges journey begins in Madrid, where guests will enjoy a three-night stay in the city’s Westin Palace hotel. While in Madrid, Tauck Bridges travelers will get an insider’s tour of Estadio Santiago Bernabéu, the home stadium of the iconic Real Madrid soccer team, personally led by former Real Madrid goalkeeper Francisco Buyo. A two-time winner of the Ricardo Zamora Trophy (awarded annually to Spain’s top goalkeeper), Buyo appeared in 542 La Liga matches during his career and won 12 major titles while with Real Madrid.
Families will also enjoy a kid-friendly tour of Madrid’s Museo del Prado, home to more than 7,600 paintings including works by Spanish artists Velazquez, Goya and El Greco, and travel on a bike tour of the city that highlights sprawling El Retiro Park and includes tasty stops at a renowned chocolateria and a gourmet food market.
Families will then travel via high-speed AVE train to Seville, where they’ll enjoy a four-night stay at the Hotel Alfonso XIII and explorations of the city on foot, by bicycle, and via horse-drawn carriage. Spain’s unique bullfighting traditions will be the focus during excursions outside of Seville to a ranch where fighting bulls have been raised for nearly a century, and to a hacienda where horses are trained in the art of rejoneo, a style of bullfighting where a horse-mounted matador fights the bull from the saddle. Finally, Spanish history and culture will again take center stage when guests tour the 12th-century Moorish palace Real Alcazar, during a fun flamenco demonstration, and when kids and adults taste traditional delicacies they’ve created together during a hands-on tapas making lesson.
Tauck will operate departures of “Spain: Olé, Olé, Olé!” from June through August, and prices for the eight-day journey are from $3,676 per person (triple accommodation, plus airfare). Built into Tauck’s all-inclusive pricing are all entertainment, sightseeing and admission to all attractions, most meals, all gratuities, airport transfers, luggage handling and more.
