Tauck's "Celebration Of Roses Event" Returns For The 124th Annual Rose Parade
In-Depth, Five-Day Event Explores Hollywood; Includes Reserved Seats For Both The 2013 Rose Parade And Rose Bowl Game
NORWALK, CT (September 12, 2012) Tauck will kick off the coming New Year in style when guests attending its special “Celebration of Roses” in Los Angeles enjoy reserved grandstand seating at the 124th annual Rose Parade on January 1st and tickets to the 2013 Rose Bowl game, college football’s “Granddaddy of Them All.” The five-day Tauck event (December 29, 2012 – January 2, 2013) will also include themed sightseeing in Hollywood and Beverly Hills, a special gala New Year’s Eve celebration, an “insider’s” visit to see how the famous Rose Parade floats are crafted, and more.
The event kicks off on Saturday, December 29, when guests arrive for their four-night stay at the prestigious Beverly Hilton and enjoy a welcome reception and dinner featuring a performance by singing comedian and impersonator Scott Record. The following morning, Sunday the 30th, guests will separate into small groups of no more than 35 to experience one of several different themed sightseeing tracks. Over the course of the event, the different groups will experience each of these themed tracks in varying rotations, reconvening each evening for dinner and entertainment.
The sightseeing tracks include a special tour inside one of the Rose Parade float barns where guests will see first-hand how the parade’s renowned floral floats are built and decorated. Another track highlights the entertainment industry during an insider’s tour of Warner Bros. Studios and in guided sightseeing in Hollywood and Beverly Hills, while a third track offers guests the choice of visiting either the J. Paul Getty Museum or the Getty Villa.
GALA NEW YEAR’S EVE CELEBRATION, ROSE PARADE AND ROSE BOWL
Dinner, dancing and show tunes are on tap during Tauck’s gala New Year’s Eve Celebration in the Beverly Hilton’s International Ballroom, the same ballroom that will host the 70th annual Golden Globe awards less than two weeks later on January 13, 2013. The headline entertainer for the evening is singer and actress Linda Purl who has guest-starred on some of television’s most popular shows in recent years, including a recurring role on The Office and appearances on Desperate Housewives and Criminal Minds.
The festivities continue on New Year’s Day, when Tauck guests enjoy VIP grandstand seating at the 124th annual Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, and reserved seats in the Rose Bowl stadium’s Section 1 (adjacent to the goal line) to witness college football’s oldest bowl game. The event’s final night is highlighted by a farewell reception, dinner and tableside entertainment by magicians specializing in sleight-of-hand illusions.
Attendance at the Tauck “Celebration of Roses” event is limited to 350 guests, and prices start at $4,215 per-person, double occupancy, plus airfare. Included in the price are reserved seating at both the Rose Bowl football game and Tournament of Roses parade in Pasadena, all dinners and breakfasts, all sightseeing and entertainment, luggage handling, airport transfers, all gratuities, luggage handling, and much more. (Special reduced pricing is available from $3,790 per-person, double occupancy, plus airfare for those guests opting not to attend the Rose Bowl game.)
GROWTH IN TAUCK EVENTS
The “Celebration of Roses” event is returning due to popular demand after a four-year hiatus, reflecting strong growth in Tauck’s expanding portfolio of events. Other signature Tauck events include “Roman Holiday,” an in-depth exploration of Rome’s past and present (October, 2012), and “Run for the Roses: The Kentucky Derby” (May, 2013) which focuses on horse racing and local culture in Kentucky’s Bluegrass region, culminating in a lavish day at the Kentucky Derby itself.
Tauck has also partnered with the award-winning filmmaker Ken Burns on additional events, including the “Tauck Civil War Event” in and around Washington, DC this October, the “Tauck Jazz Event” being held next March in New Orleans, and other new events that will be announced in the coming months.
Each of Tauck’s events follows the same model of small-group sightseeing organized into a rotating series of themed tracks, with all guests reuniting for dinners and special gala evenings. Each of the events co-designed by Tauck and Ken Burns features a special evening highlighted by a meet-and-greet cocktail reception with the filmmaker, and a keynote address delivered by Burns.
