French Waterways and Vineyards Disappointment !!!\

    • Travel Date: October 2011

The trip was described in the Tauck brochure as experiencing the Provence area of France by enjoying fresh food from the region. The food served on the boat was more like a low budget cruise with frozen food. The one dinner we had off the boat was at a French aqueduct with entertainment. We arrived all dressed up in anticipation of a great event. What we got was some type of frozen fish dinner with 2 poor Spanish singers and dancers ! I guess Tauck had the French entertainment in Spain !

    Most Memorable Moment:

Best part of the trip was getting off the boat ! It was grossly overpriced for what we received, very poor value ! This was our 3rd Tauck tour. The entertainment on board was poorly done skits taken from Club Med from 20 years ago performed by the maids and waiters! It was awful !Tauck has changed considerably. It was considered an upscale tour provider who offered great value. Now it seems to offer budget tours with upscale prices.Tour guides were inexperienced. It will be our last Tauck tour

From start to finish, everything the Tauck directors, the cruise staff, the food (Oh! the FOOD), the wine, and the excursions, everything was better than expected.

    Most Memorable Moment:

There were many memorable moments, but a very enjoyable excursion was a evening walking tour in Vienne, FR.
